As part of our interior design for Audible UK’s West London HQ, we were tasked with transforming their meeting rooms into something far more imaginative than the typical corporate fare. Drawing inspiration from the overarching design theme of Storytelling, we conceptualised a unique identity for each room, designing bespoke wallpaper murals tailored to specific literary genres.

The main boardroom became the Science Fiction room — a bold choice for senior meetings. The feature wallpaper was a mash-up of retro sci-fi illustrations with graphic overlays, designed as a one-metre square repeat to cover the walls in immersive detail.

In the Travel & Adventure room, a vintage map of the world formed the backdrop, traversed by a retro aeroplane whose vapour trail spelled out a stream of international passport stamps. A visual celebration of global exploration and literary wanderlust.

One room paid homage to the Crime & Thriller genre — one of Audible’s most popular. A moody space evoking Sherlock Holmes and spy novels, brought to life with props, forensics-inspired details, and our custom graphics.

The Comedy room took a lighthearted twist on the Periodic Table, with helium (He) nodding to Laughing Gas — the wallpaper design featuring floating balloons and a cheerful scientific play on the genre.

Each room’s mural featured bespoke thematic branding, aligning with its literary genre. These graphic interventions added real character and colour to the overall interior, which was otherwise a fresh, monochrome palette with black and grey accents.

When Audible opened a new office in the Barbican, they re-commissioned us to design the new space — and many of our original meeting room wallpapers proved so loved by staff that they were recreated and reused in the new location.
