Portwall Lofts is a striking new workspace set within a restored Victorian red brick warehouse, located on the historic site of Bristol’s 13th-century Port Wall. Run For The Hills was brought on board to create both the interior design and the brand identity for this design-led commercial development.

The interiors brief was to strip back and enhance the building’s existing character, revealing its raw beauty. Our team removed suspended ceilings to expose the dramatic vaulted timber frame, restored original floorboards, and revived the building’s period glazing to maximise natural light and spatial volume. Original brickwork was carefully exposed and repaired, keeping the building’s distinctive patina intact. These interventions transformed the top two floors into bright, open-plan office spaces bursting with light, texture and historic charm.

At ground level, we designed a boutique hotel-style lobby to welcome guests and tenants. The space includes crittal-glazed entrance doors, curved velvet banquette seating, textured walls, terrazzo flooring, antique bronze lighting, and bespoke chandeliers – creating a warm, luxurious and contemporary first impression.

For the branding, we crafted a refined, minimal identity designed to appeal to a design-savvy Bristol audience. The visual language is sophisticated and understated, with a muted dark palette, touches of gold, and restrained typography. The brand expression is carried through into discreet signage and wayfinding that quietly complements the redbrick architecture and elevates the atmosphere to feel more like a boutique hotel than a traditional workplace.

We also created a stylish digital e‑brochure featuring custom-designed floorplans, specification icons, and a hand-illustrated local map recommending the best nearby places to eat, drink, shop and stay. The end result is a cohesive blend of characterful interior architecture and contemporary visual storytelling – designed to help market Portwall Lofts to like-minded tenants looking for something beyond the ordinary.
