Redmere Hall is a characterful, design-led countryside retreat we created for large family gatherings, group getaways, and memory-making adventures in rural Wiltshire.

This is our third collaboration with hospitality entrepreneur Anna Anderson, following our work together on her members’ club Kindred in Hammersmith and her Fulham residence Victoriana Loft. When she approached us with the brief for Redmere Hall, it was beautifully evocative: “We care about outdoor adventures and barbecues, tennis tournaments and long walks with the dog. Long, boozy dinners, movie nights, endless cups of tea and cozy corners.”

Set in a dramatically transformed single-storey stable block, the property wraps around a central courtyard and is connected by two cloister-style corridors. It includes five individually designed double bedrooms, two expansive family suites, and a vibrant bunk room with eight custom-made beds — sleeping large groups in comfort while still offering quiet retreats for individuals.

Our vision was to craft a sanctuary that feels nurturing and soulful in cooler seasons, but sociable and sun-drenched when the weather turns. A welcoming, textured and characterful space that wraps its arms around guests the moment they arrive.

At the social heart of the property is a stunning open-plan living room, designed for connection and comfort. It includes dual lounge zones, four big sofas, a piano and games area, and leads to a sun-soaked terrace. Nearby, a cosy cinema room provides the perfect retreat for movie nights, while the kitchen and dining spaces are designed to host feasts of all shapes and sizes.

We designed the fully bespoke kitchen using charred carbon and band-sawn timber cabinetry, a hammered brass sink in the coffee zone, and antique bronze hardware. It’s built for group cooking and camaraderie — from pancake flipping to midnight snacking.

The dining room is a real showstopper. At its centre is a 6.5-metre vintage table, comfortably seating 24 beneath amber Murano-style glass chandeliers. Curated art and a drinks dresser complete the warm and welcoming mood.

Lighting plays a starring role throughout the property. We curated every decorative fixture — from floor lamps to pendants — and worked with IntoLighting to layer architectural lighting that shifts from bright daytime zones to softly focused, after-dark glow.

Each bedroom has its own story to tell. Some are wrapped in limewash, others in vintage-inspired wallpaper. Bespoke headboards in velvet, leather or timber sit alongside unique upholstery and textiles — luxurious, yet playful and personal.

Bathrooms are equally rich in character. Stone basins, brassware, mosaic and marble mix with sculptural shower screens and striped drapery. One space includes curved brass-framed double showers; another is a striking DDA-compliant room styled with thoughtful flair.

Designed with the whole family in mind, Redmere Hall includes plenty of breakout zones and quiet corners for remote work or relaxation. The bunk room is a highlight — raspberry red with privacy curtains, reading lights and personal storage for every little guest.

The outdoor spaces are generous and full of promise: a south-facing terrace, market garden, central courtyard, and soon-to-be-completed pool and outdoor kitchen. We designed the courtyard to act as the social spine of the house, ideal for yoga, al fresco breakfasts, or cocktails while kids safely play nearby.

Every detail has been considered. Artisan chequer-tile fireplaces, crittall-style doors, custom rugs (in collaboration with Pelican Rugs), and poured concrete floors that echo our client’s London home. Soft textures and upholstery bring extra layers of warmth and storytelling throughout.

Redmere Hall is a soulful escape — as ready for wild adventures as it is for quiet moments. A home-from-home, beautifully made for making memories.
