THE CURVED CEILING CLUB
Indoor outdoor, day to night
A narrow, characterful Victorian townhouse in West London gave us the chance to do what we love most: balance atmosphere with function, restraint with drama. The result is a sophisticated, deeply liveable home, crowned by something truly rare: a top-floor roof garden and curved-ceiling indoor-outdoor DJ bar.

We completed the refurbishment and redecoration of a narrow, twisty Victorian townhouse in West London, transforming a wonderfully characterful footprint into a home that feels chic, sophisticated and completely liveable. The project culminates in the jewel in the crown: a top-floor roof garden and a curved-ceiling indoor home bar designed as a true social hybrid hospitality space.
What was previously a sad-looking kitchenette is now a proper bar destination, with full custom joinery, a sculptural curved feature stone island with bar stools and a super custom moveable DJ unit designed to swing round and face the terrace when our client is playing at parties. This project is also about smart restraint and being kind to the planet. Rather than ripping out perfectly serviceable fitted pieces, we upgraded and uplifted: refinishing, repainting and re-styling existing joinery, adding new splashback tiles, hardware and high-impact details to add glamour without unnecessary waste.
The roof garden terrace is an outdoor room in the sky, layered with planting and soft lounge seating, set up for long social evenings with the skyline as backdrop. We designed it as a hybrid hospitality hosting space, bringing all of our bar and restaurant design experience to give it real wow factor, with layers of lighting and a layout that lets the mood shift from daytime calm to evening glow.
In the living spaces below, the scheme becomes warmer and more intimate. The main sitting room bears all the gorgeous trademarks of a West London townhouse: original shutters, cornicing, stripped timber floorboards and a vintage marble fireplace. The decorative palette is soft and grounded, letting the artwork add colour and texture, with vintage Italian dining chairs re-upholstered in a beautiful Nobilis fabric, mixing old and new throughout.
The dining and kitchen zones were approached with smart restraint, uplifting what already existed rather than ripping out for the sake of it. A previously forgotten lower ground floor mezzanine nook became our client's work-from-home desk space, finished in a rich green and layered with planting, bringing the outside in and making a compact corner feel like a proper destination.
Inside the bar, bespoke joinery and warm illumination create a private club mood. The bar features a dappled antique copper sink from Devol and beautiful brassware from Studio Ore, with softly integrated recessed shelf lighting that casts a twinkling glow onto bottles and glassware. The centrepiece is a stunning double bull-nosed, richly veined marble top island to perch at, pour drinks and gather around. The moveable DJ unit can turn to face the terrace when our client is playing, shifting the room from indoor bar to indoor-outdoor DJ clubhouse in one move.
The Curved Ceiling Club is a characterful home that behaves brilliantly for modern life: new where it counts, uplifted where it makes sense, kind to the planet through smart reuse and delivered with calm, hands-on support. The result is a warm, sophisticated home with a genuinely unique top-floor roof garden and indoor-outdoor DJ bar, designed for a buzzy social life, day-to-day ease and longevity.
