Tucked away on a quiet private road in Surrey, this five-bedroom family home strikes a balance between refined luxury and relaxed comfort. Designed to feel both elegant and lived-in, the interiors blend contemporary styling with heritage finishes, featuring brass and bronze accents, layered textures and a curated mix of designer furniture and textiles.
The expansive ground floor includes a double drawing room, large study, family lounge, children’s playroom and a broken-plan kitchen, dining and snug space that opens onto the garden. We worked closely with the clients and the developer to zone the layout and select materials throughout, including smoked oak joinery and stunning green-and-brass Crittall-style doors.
In the open-plan kitchen and snug, soft rugs and statement lighting create a grounded, intimate feel. A cosy TV nook sits nearby with relaxed linen curtains, low lighting and a velvet sofa for lazy evenings. Across the house, each space is designed for family life, with clever storage and hard-wearing finishes that combine form with function.
The separate lounge is playful and inviting, with blush walls, a plush green velvet sofa and layered textures. Bespoke joinery conceals tech and toys, while a thoughtful play area includes a teepee, rugs and beautiful wooden toys. Art and textiles zone the space without compromising on grown-up style.
The drawing room is both glamorous and welcoming, ideal for entertaining or fireside drinks. Rich velvets and warm textures contrast with heavy rust curtains and a parquet floor. A low-level joinery piece runs the length of the room, with fluted arches, integrated lighting and a bespoke home bar.
Upstairs, the master suite includes a velvet bed, rose sofa and boucle chairs, leading to a luxurious en-suite with a double shower and antique brass finishes. The nursery is a tactile haven in gentle greens, filled with natural textures, bespoke curtains and heirloom toys, designed for calm, creativity and comfort.
Three guest bedrooms each have their own en-suite and dressing space, styled to feel unique and welcoming. Peach, green and sage tones are paired with marble, vintage glass and playful touches like animal-print cushions and upholstered pouffes. Every detail has been carefully considered.
On the top floor sits a self-contained guest apartment, a bright home barre studio and a moody, cinematic snug. The result is a richly layered family home that’s as practical as it is beautiful.
