Judy Joo, the world-renowned Korean American chef, approached us to help with branding and interiors for Seoul Bird, her new restaurant specialising in crispy, double fried, Korean-style chicken.
Taking cues from traditional Korean lattice work for the gantry and the logo, we wanted the brand identity to be distinctive, original and instantly recognisable. In a sea of generic chicken logos from rival food brands, we hope Seoul Bird stands proud, full of character and individuality.
Using a palette of urban blackened steel and burnished brass, with a crackle glazed lava stone counter top in Korean Celadon green, and custom designed tubular lights. The interior design draw inspiration from Korean architectural motifs, giving them a contemporary twist. We gave it a backdrop crafted from concrete Korean-style roof tiles set within metal frames and washed with softly diffused light.
We also created a film for the menu boards. Using just still photography with a clever use of pans, zooms and playing with depth of field to create the illusion of being moving footage. This was an important part of the kerb appeal of Seoul Bird’s stall in Westfield.
