We have just added a brand new destination cocktail bar to the top floor of Kindred, the Hammersmith-based members’ space set within Grade II listed mansion Bradmore House.
The new “Salon Bar” is an extra layer to our previous makeover of the main club spaces back in 2021 post-lockdown. The dramatic horse-shoe shaped bar is situated on the very top floor of the building in the most stunning heritage room, with oversized arched windows and ornate original features. The beautiful, light-filled space is often hired for private events and weddings, but the new bar and lounge is perfect for club members and special events, but Kindred Founder Anna Anderson had always felt it should be enjoyed by members every day and re-enlisted us to us to help.
We concepted and designed the bar and curved metal gantry, which was then fabricated by joinery firm Rough Living. The bar front is tiled in ‘Autumn Red’ concave tiles from Solus Ceramics, topped with a stunning marble counter top with luxurious double bull nose edging — finished with an inset antique brass trim and metalic kick plate. Shelving for bottles and glassware within the deck-mounted gantry has been crafted from a mix of aged brass and blackened steel, with transparent glazed shelves gleaming with softly integrated lighting. Creating not just an ambient warm glow, but providing sophisticated task lighting for mixologists working their magic.
The Salon bar’s decorative palette is an inspired mix of pink to ceilings and chalky matt Rhubarb finish to walls. Contrasted by high gloss to skirtings, timber shutters, dado and doors.
Nestled around the main bar are a subtly eclectic mix of sink-into corner banquettes and fixed seating, all custom designed by us and made by BB Contracts, the main Contractor. Surrounded by upholstered pouffes and cocktail chairs in complementary tones and patterns, with antique brass trims and bases. Textiles chosen by the designers include gorgeous vintage style velvets and textured prints to refined weaves and vintage-textured leathers. Drinks tables are deep and dark-veined marbles, in a mix of coffee table height set ups for low-lounge cocktailing and dining height tables for longer stays with bar food. Oval brass wall mirrors mounted on the left and right of the bar cast reflections and offer bar-flies the chance to survey the room from their seat. The bar stools have a patterned fluted back with brass circular swivel base. Pouffes in a mix of leather. Wall art is by client Anna Anderson’s talented Mum.
