GRAPHIC & WEB DESIGNER: JOB DESCRIPTION

We are a small team of multi-faceted designers with specialisms crossing different areas including branding, illustration and digital design, with Chris as our Creative Director. We are looking for a mid to senior weight graphic and web designer to join us.

We share the studio with the Run For The Hills interior design team and you will have plenty to do with them too as we often work on projects together – with them doing the interior layout and styling of restaurants, bars, retail and creative work spaces, and us doing the in-venue graphics, menu design, signage, wall murals, decals, wayfinding and branding.

On a given day, you might be concepting a new brand identity for a restaurant or café, or designing a custom wallpaper or glazing graphics for a new bar, retail space or advertising agency’s new workspace. On another day, you might be adding a new case study to the Company’s creds, or updating the website and blog with cool new visual content. Another day you might be designing a restaurant brand’s new website, using WordPress from wireframe to finished site. Have a really good look at our website to see the kind of work we do. If you love love love what you see, and have the skills, then e’d love to hear from you.

One of the team’s biggest responsibilities is making sure that our presentations and proposals look beautiful when being shown to clients. This is what makes them love us and also helps win business. So you will also spend time making InDesign documents look really slick and beautiful, not just for the Graphics team but also for the Interior Design team on their live projects.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for a talented graphic and web designer with a minimum of 3 years+ direct industry experience and solid WordPress web design skills. Someone with a strong creative, commercial portfolio. You will have a can-do attitude and a hunger to gain more mid-senior level experience within a highly creative agency. You will be the kind of person who asks as many questions as you need, to refine your design and hone new skills. You’ll ask our opinion on your work and you’ll take constructive feedback graciously.

You will definitely need to have your wits about you and be very focused. Our studio moves quickly on projects and we need someone who is capable of adapting to a fast-paced environment. If you think this sounds like you, please read on.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a confident, conceptually minded and exceptionally creative designer who can support the Creative Director in the graphics team on the various client and in-house projects they’re working on. Assisting with live graphic design, branding, illustration and digital work for clients in the hospitality and property sector. But also helping create and produce really exciting Run For The Hills brand materials of our own. As an experienced member of the team, you will also be mentoring junior designers, interns and contract staff.

You will be enthusiastic and a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, with great Creative Suite skills in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop. You will be designing for both online and offline, but your work will be underpinned by a love of story telling no matter the medium.

Your portfolio should demonstrate a really strong selection (possibly not all) of the following creative and technical skills:

• Branding (Logo design, visual identity)

• Layout design

• Illustration

• Web design (Excellent knowledge of WordPress)

If you have any other specialist skills or interests outside of design then please let us know about them, they will be just as important as your portfolio of work. We love people who are proactive and passionate about doing self-initiated projects or weird and wonderful hobbies.
